GROUP MUSIC CLASSES

Group classes are a great way for students to build connection through music and become more confident with their creativity.  Group classes are available for most ages and instruments at beginning and intermediate levels. Each one is customized to best suit the instrument and age group with our very best curriculum.

In group classes, students:

  • Gain a better sense of rhythm and staying in time with others
  • Practice critical listening skills
  • Discuss and apply music theory skills
  • Have additional time to practice new concepts before taking them home
  • Stay motivated and have fun

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS

Private lessons allow the teacher and student to make complete customized goals. This can include choosing to focus on certain styles of music, strengthening specific skills, or picking learning activities that match the student's strengths. Teachers take the time to understand your unique gifts and help you.

In private lessons, students can:

  • Take their time when they want to
  • Select favorite songs as their primary projects
  • Get a personalized plan for each week

Is your student ready to become a truly well-rounded musician? Our community has all the tools to help them grow! In the Excel programs, students have access to all the best opportunities to engage in their music lessons. In addition to all the benefits of the MusicMaker program, students in the Excel program are able to participate in:

Music Maker Membership benefits:

  • Ensembles (two-hour weekly group rehearsals and quarterly community performances)
  • Monthly Masterclasses with other students playing their instrument (also offered online during school distance learning)
  • A featured "Corner Concert" video performance of their own concert set
  • Workshops such as Song-writers Guild
  • Intermediate Theory classes
  • Annual Evaluations (and access to state music teacher association evaluations and competitions)
  • And other special pop-up events

FAQ

  • How long does it take to learn an instrument?

    There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn an instrument. With regular practice a very basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long-term basis because they want to be constantly improving, and they find the lessons enjoyable.  Book a private lesson here. 

  • Do I need an instrument at home?

    For private lessons, YES. We do require students to have their own instrument at home within a month of beginning private lessons. 


    For Group classes, it depends on the class. Most of our group classes are designed to not have a practice requirement.  

  • How much do music lessons cost?

    Music lessons cost less than you many think!  Options start at $165 per month.  Request more info here.

  • What if I want to attend more than 1 class per week?

    Our member program is perfect for you!  It includes your primary group or private lesson and a range of options for ADDITIONAL classes you can attend.  Ask us how to customize this great program for yourself.
